Autumn in Schoharie County
A hilltop house at twelve hundred feet, facing north across the Mohawk Valley to the Adirondacks. Sleeps eight. Thirty minutes from Cooperstown.
Three Reasons
Anyone can rent you a house near the leaves. Very few can put you above them with nothing in the way.
Twelve hundred feet, open field in front, one hundred and eighty degrees of valley. No neighbours in the frame, no trees blocking the line.
Come back from the drive, take the sauna, then the cold plunge, then get the fire going with the wood already stacked.
Three bedrooms, a sofa bed, two full baths and a table that seats eight at once. Bring the family or bring the friends.
After the Drive
A private sauna downstairs and a cold plunge on the deck, both yours alone — no booking a slot, no sharing with the house next door, because there is no house next door.
Firewood is provided and the fire ring gets used every night. The telescope comes out once it gets dark, and out here it gets properly dark.

Inside
Guests keep writing about the same thing — that everything is where you would look for it, and marked so you do not have to ask.
